Acting Instructional Aide (8 Hours per Day)
Available March 2026 – April 2026

OpportunityThe instructional aide will work as an assistant teacher under the direction of the classroom teacher and the principal. Responsibilities include assisting the teacher in providing instruction to students in both Spanish and English, planning and developing a positive learning environment focused on high academic achievement in two languages, working with pupils individually and in small group activities, preparing instructional materials, and assisting with recess and lunch supervision.
The successful candidate will collaborate with grade‑level, cluster, and whole‑school teams of teachers, including specialists in ESL, SSL, and Special Education, and help implement an academically and linguistically active curriculum that is developmentally appropriate and socially/culturally responsive to the dual‑language student population.
Skill Set- Associate’s degree or 48 college credits from an accredited college or university
- High levels or native language proficiency in Spanish and English, including listening, speaking, reading, grammar, and writing
- Willingness to be trained in de‑escalation and safe physical restraint techniques
- Physical ability to work on the floor and move around the room to support students and teachers in curriculum implementation, use of manipulatives, and other instructional methods and materials
- Previous experience working in a multicultural environment and demonstrated implementation of culturally responsive practices that include students from diverse ethnic, cultural, and socio‑economic backgrounds
