Location: Cambridge, MA
Pay Range: $20/hr
Responsibilities include conducting programs for children and related activities.
Education Requirements: High school diploma required;
Associate’s Degree preferred
Work Experience: Experience working with children
Qualifications:
- High school diploma required; associate’s degree preferred
- Experience with children
- Must have or be pursuing EEC certification
- Flexible, self-motivated, energetic
- Ability to handle conflicts positively
- Open to change
- Non-judgmental attitude towards families and children
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement daily curriculum
- Create a nurturing environment and apply positive discipline
- Collaborate with co-teachers and staff
- Participate in weekly staff meetings
- Write developmental evaluations quarterly, meet with parents, and set goals
- Ensure classroom routines, safety, and cleanliness
- Engage in professional development activities
- Communicate daily with the Director and parents
- Maintain records and observe children for developmental needs
- Supervise volunteers and adhere to policies
- Refer children with developmental concerns to appropriate services
- Represent The Salvation Army’s mission
- Perform other related duties
