Location: Cambridge, MA

Pay Range: $20/hr

Responsibilities include conducting programs for children and related activities.

Education Requirements: High school diploma required;
Associate’s Degree preferred

Work Experience: Experience working with children

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required; associate’s degree preferred
  • Experience with children
  • Must have or be pursuing EEC certification
  • Flexible, self-motivated, energetic
  • Ability to handle conflicts positively
  • Open to change
  • Non-judgmental attitude towards families and children

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement daily curriculum
  • Create a nurturing environment and apply positive discipline
  • Collaborate with co-teachers and staff
  • Participate in weekly staff meetings
  • Write developmental evaluations quarterly, meet with parents, and set goals
  • Ensure classroom routines, safety, and cleanliness
  • Engage in professional development activities
  • Communicate daily with the Director and parents
  • Maintain records and observe children for developmental needs
  • Supervise volunteers and adhere to policies
  • Refer children with developmental concerns to appropriate services
  • Represent The Salvation Army’s mission
  • Perform other related duties
