Lesley University is seeking a part‑time, nine‑month Temporary Core Faculty of Studio Arts (Printmaking) to join our undergraduate Studio Arts program. The Temporary Core Faculty member will focus on teaching introductory and intermediate printmaking courses that introduce students to core processes such as relief, intaglio, lithography, screen printing, and monotype, while integrating principles of design, composition, and critical inquiry.
Responsibilities- Teach introductory and intermediate printmaking courses, covering relief, intaglio, lithography, screen printing, and monotype, and integrating design, composition, and critical inquiry.
- Develop course materials, deliver demonstrations, lead critiques, and evaluate student work to support both technical skill development and conceptual growth.
- Provide clear, timely feedback, maintain accurate academic records, and foster an inclusive, rigorous learning environment that encourages experimentation and independent artistic development.
- Maintain a safe, well‑organized printmaking studio, including instruction in proper use of presses, tools, inks, and materials; adhere to safety protocols; and perform general upkeep of shared facilities.
- Support curricular continuity within the program, collaborate with studio art colleagues, and contribute to critiques, reviews, and department activities as appropriate.
- MFA in Printmaking, Studio Arts, or a closely related field.
- Minimum of three years of experience teaching college‑level printmaking.
- Demonstrated experience managing and maintaining a professional printmaking studio, including equipment and safety protocols.
- Broad technical knowledge of traditional and contemporary printmaking processes (relief, intaglio, lithography, screen printing).
- Evidence of an active studio practice and engagement in the field.
- Strong teaching, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to support diverse learners.
