Job DescriptionPosition:
Acting Instructional Aide – ELT (8 hours/11 months) at Fletcher Maynard Academy, Office of Student Services. The role will support the implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEP) for students with disabilities for the 8‑hour/11‑month term from June 15 to July 31.
- Assist with instruction for students with disabilities.
- Supervise students with disabilities during non‑instructional activities.
- Supervise students during transitions.
- Collaborate with general education, special education, and related services staff.
- Accommodate and modify student learning and support the general education teacher with the implementation of appropriate accommodations in the general education setting.
- Perform duties designated by the special educator or supervisor.
- Perform toileting duties as required for paraprofessionals employed by Cambridge Public Schools.
- Excellent oral communication skills.
- Problem‑solving ability.
- Experience working with students in urban environments.
- Energetic, enthusiastic, patient, and flexible.
- Ability to address the physical, educational, and social‑emotional needs of students.
- Willingness to be trained in de‑escalation and safe physical restraint techniques.
- Physical ability to work on the floor and move around the room to support students and teachers in curriculum implementation, manipulation of manipulatives, and other instructional methods and materials.
Associate’s degree or 48 college credits from an accredited college or university preferred. Previous Montessori training or experience preferred.
Job Requirements- Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
