Community Charter School of Cambridge (CCSC) is a charter public school that serves students in grades 6-12. CCSC’s school values are Belonging, Equity, Growth, and Achievement, fostering postsecondary success through high academic and behavioral expectations in a supportive environment.
Responsibilities- Provide support in both the inclusion setting and in small group settings.
- Offer organizational and clerical support to classroom teachers: photocopying/printing instructional materials, collecting and organizing student work, entering data (grades and attendance) into Power School, and preparing supplies for lessons, projects, and activities.
- Regularly gather student progress data, including IEP goals and grade‑level interventions, using an online data management platform and grade‑level trackers.
- Assist special education teachers in drafting quarterly progress notes.
- Collaborate closely with content teachers and special education teachers to support middle‑school students with IEPs and implement accommodations from IEPs, grade‑level interventions, and the District Curriculum Accommodations Plan.
- Provide input on student performance to inform IEP team meetings.
- Deliver in‑the‑moment social‑emotional and behavioral coaching to students based on identified challenges.
- Engage in action‑planning meetings with teaching staff, support staff, and families to troubleshoot and strategize when students demonstrate increased needs.
- Attend to students’ physical, personal, academic, and emotional needs, providing assistance with activities of daily living when necessary.
- Work with a diverse student body from Cambridge, Everett, Revere, Chelsea, and surrounding communities.
- Sustain a school‑wide culture of inclusion, respect, and belonging, contributing to an equity and anti‑racism mission.
- Participate in professional development sessions as scheduled.
- Complete other duties as assigned and fulfill regular CCSC staff responsibilities.
- At least an associate’s degree (or two years of college; 48 credit hours) required; a bachelor's degree preferred.
- Experience working with middle or high school students in a school setting, preferably in special education, including knowledge of accommodations, modifications, and diverse learning styles.
- Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability to changing schedules based on student needs.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask, reacting promptly to student needs.
- Physical ability to move about or stand for extended periods in various intra‑ and outdoor environments.
- Flexible, responsible, and organized, with experience supporting students with a range of mild/moderate disabilities.
- Caring, compassionate, and dedicated to student success with a versatile skill set and willingness to proactively support teachers and students.
- Commitment to supporting CCSC’s anti‑racism, equity, and restorative justice efforts.
The Inclusion Support Specialist Long Term Sub will be paid a rate of $150–$175 per day worked, based on level of experience.
