About the Position

We seek a Middle School Math Teacher to teach two sections of 6th grade mathematics for the 2026‑2027 school year. This part‑time (50% FTE), 10‑month, in‑person position is exempt and salaried.

Responsibilities
  • Teach two sections of 6th grade mathematics (45 minutes each weekday).
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners.
  • Meet with students outside of class and collaborate with the middle school student support team.
  • Coordinate closely with other 6th grade math teachers.
  • Communicate student progress, write reports, hold parent conferences, and meet with administrators and faculty.
  • Monitor students’ emotional, social, and academic wellbeing, fostering a safe and caring classroom community.
  • Attend weekly department meetings, Wednesday afternoon faculty meetings, and Middle School community periods.
  • Engage in professional development to enhance inclusive teaching and leadership practices.
  • Participate in faculty duties such as student activity supervision, special events, lunch and recess supervision, and committee work.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher.
  • 3‑5 years of prior experience teaching middle school mathematics.
  • Demonstrated success in differentiating instruction across diverse learning profiles.
  • Effective, timely, and professional communication skills.
  • Use of multicultural, anti‑bias, and anti‑racist teaching strategies and materials.
  • Interest in pursuing or holding teaching certification (preferred).
Salary & Benefits

Annual salary: $36,000 to $52,500. Salary steps are commensurate with experience.
