Adjunct Faculty Position
Lesley University's Department of Natural Sciences and Mathematics is seeking a highly qualified adjunct faculty member to teach CBIOL 1101 - Biology with Lab;
Fall Semester 2026;
Mondays/Wednesdays from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm;
In-Person, On Campus.
Course
Description:
This course introduces the core concepts in modern biology, with an emphasis on the way of thinking in science. Topics covered include an introduction to organisms and ecology, evolutionary theory, Mendelian genetics, biological chemistry, and biology of the cell. This course meets for five hours weekly in order to integrate laboratory experiences.
Qualifications and Capabilities
- Master's degree in Biology, or a closely related field (doctorate preferred)
- Experience teaching at the college level or with adult learners
- Demonstrated commitment to student-centered, inclusive, and equitable teaching practices
- Ability to teach mathematical concepts in ways that are accessible, relevant, and engaging
- Experience supporting students with diverse academic backgrounds and levels of mathematical preparation
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience using learning management systems and educational technology to support teaching and learning
