The International School of Boston (ISB), accredited by the French Ministry of National Education and a member of the AEFE network of French schools abroad, educates students from preschool through the final year of high school (Terminale) in Cambridge, at the heart of the Greater Boston area. ISB offers a rigorous bilingual French–English education in a multicultural environment, preparing students for the Diplôme national du brevet (DNB) and the French Baccalaureate, including the Baccalauréat français international (BFI).

2026 session: 100% pass rate on both the DNB and the Baccalaureate, with honors ("mention") for nearly all candidates.

Responsibilities

Working within the secondary-school team and reporting to the Upper School Director, the mathematics teacher will:

  • Teach mathematics in accordance with the current French national curricula, from Grade 6 (6ème) through Terminale (Cycles 3 and 4, the Seconde common core, the mathematics spécialité, and the mathématiques complémentaires and mathématiques expertes options), depending on how teaching duties are assigned;
  • Prepare students for national examinations: the DNB mathematics test, the early mathematics assessment ( épreuve anticipée ) in Première, the Baccalaureate spécialité exams, and support preparation for the Grand oral as needed;
  • Implement continuous assessment ( contrôle continu ) in accordance with the school's assessment framework;
  • Design, prepare, and lead lessons suited to students with varied profiles in a multilingual environment;
  • Contribute to student monitoring and assessment, in regular contact with families;
  • Participate in class councils ( conseils de classe ), subject-area meetings ( conseils d'enseignement ), pedagogical meetings, and educational activities (may serve as lead teacher / professeur principal );
  • Contribute to the school's educational projects and to the vertical coherence of mathematics learning across the entire track;
  • Collaborate with the teaching team to ensure the coherence and progression of student learning.
Qualifications & Benefits Profile / Requirements
  • Certified ( certifié ) or agrégé teacher of the French Ministry of National Education (MENJ), or a non-tenured teacher with significant experience in an accredited French school;
  • Command of the French mathematics curricula (middle and high school) and their associated teaching methods;
  • Strong pedagogy, rigor, adaptability, and a collaborative spirit;
  • Ability to support students with varied profiles (differentiation, multilingual learners);
  • Comfort with digital tools and their pedagogical integration;
  • Conversational English (minimum B1 level) to work effectively in a bilingual environment;
