Part-Time Tutor — SSAT English

Leadoo Academy is looking for an experienced Part-Time SSAT English Tutor to support middle school students preparing for the SSAT. This is an immediate-start opportunity, with priority given to tutors who are available for on-site or hybrid lessons in the Boston area
.

The ideal candidate should be able to help students strengthen core SSAT English skills, including reading comprehension, verbal reasoning, vocabulary, grammar, and writing. The tutor should also be able to provide structured homework review, targeted feedback, and test-taking strategies.

• Deliver clear, engaging, and structured SSAT English lessons.
• Help students improve reading comprehension, vocabulary, verbal reasoning, grammar, and writing skills.
• Prepare lesson materials, practice questions, homework assignments, and review notes.
• Grade homework and practice exercises in a timely manner.
• Provide constructive feedback to help students understand mistakes and improve performance.
• Teach effective SSAT test-taking strategies, including time management and question analysis.

• Strong background in English, literature, education, humanities, or a related field.
• Experience teaching or tutoring SSAT English, SSAT Verbal, ISEE Verbal, SAT English, or middle school English.
• Familiarity with private school admissions tests is highly preferred.
• Ability to explain reading and language concepts clearly to middle school students.
• Experience working with international students is a plus.
• Boston-area availability for on-site or hybrid lessons is strongly preferred.

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree from a strong academic institution.
• Strong English proficiency and ability to teach fully in English.
• Prior tutoring or teaching experience with middle school students.
• Responsible, organized, punctual, and able to provide timely homework grading and feedback.
• Patient, student-centered, and able to make lessons interactive and motivating.
• Mandarin bilingual ability is a plus, but not required.
