Our school motto, "Everyone is Different, Everyone Belongs" is the foundation of our commitment to diversity and inclusion. We believe that all students can achieve at high levels.
At Haggerty, we believe that learning unfolds when we provide conditions in which children can explore, inquire, and shape their own understandings. The school values the culture and beliefs that each child brings to the classroom, and teachers believe that children must engage with their world in order to make sense of it and build their knowledge. Each student is expected to take responsibility for his/her own learning while collaborating, supporting, and respecting others.
We are committed to relationships and rapport being foundational to the conditions needed for successful collegiality, caregiver engagement, and student success.
The Opportunity:

- Supervise lunch and/or outdoor recess.
- Remind and redirect students about expectations for safe and respectful behavior in the cafeteria and playground.
- Clean cafeteria tables and help to get them reset for subsequent lunch periods.
- Engage in play with students during outdoor recess.
- Accompany students during transitions between the cafeteria and playground.
- Additional related responsibilities as directed by the Principal or Assistant Principal.

- Comfortable supporting the positive social and emotional growth of young people (ages 4-11) by celebrating positive behaviors and addressing unexpected behaviors.
- Able to work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment and interact positively with children representing a diverse range of behaviors and needs;
- A willingness to engage in light cleaning tasks (e.g., wiping down cafeteria tables) and help young students manage their lunches (e.g, opening milk cartons, etc.).
- A willingness to work both indoors and outdoors (even during cold weather or light precipitation).
- Flexibility and a growth mindset
