The Life Sciences Departments in Harvard Faculty of Arts and Sciences seek to recruit a tenure-track professor whose research is at the interface of AI and life sciences, from methodological developments to AI-enabled discovery. The successful candidate will be appointed in one of the participating FAS departments, including Earth and Planetary Science, Human Evolutionary Biology, Molecular and Cellular Biology, Organismic and Evolutionary Biology, and Stem Cell and Regenerative Biology, consistent with the best-matching research focus.

Candidates conducting AI-integrated research in any subfield covered by these departments are encouraged to apply. We seek an outstanding individual who will establish an innovative research program and teach both undergraduate and graduate students.

The successful candidate will benefit from state-of-the-art research facilities, strong institutional commitment to career development, and a vibrant, collaborative research enterprise that brings together many disciplines in the biological sciences to create unique scientific and educational opportunities. Appointments will be made at the pre-tenure academic ranks of Assistant or Associate Professor, in accordance with the candidate’s experience and accomplishments. The appointment is expected to begin on July 1, 2027, or as soon as possible thereafter.

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate or terminal degree in any life sciences, computer science, mathematical sciences, engineering or machine learning, or related discipline required by the time the appointment begins.

Additional Qualifications:

Demonstrated strong commitment to teaching and advising is desired.
