PDS Defense, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer-Test & Verification 4, in Cambridge, MA. Job
Responsibilities- Set up and configure test environments, including hardware, software, and network configurations to replicate production environments.
- Design, develop, and complete test and verification of software products to ensure quality, reliability, and functionality.
- Partner with stakeholders to review and identify software requirements, test objectives, test strategies, and testability.
- Design test plans, cases, and scenarios to meet software requirements and specifications.
- Execute test cases and scenarios to verify functionality, performance, and safety of software systems; identify and report defects, issues, and potential vulnerabilities.
- Provide test results and feedback to resolve defects and vulnerabilities.
- Create, document, and maintain test plans, procedures, cases, artifacts, metrics, and data per data privacy and security protocols.
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks to improve efficiency and effectiveness of testing.
- Perform software project management functions across test and verification activities involving multifunctional teams.
- Set up and maintain Hardware-In-the-Loop (HIL) automation for automating system-level software and hardware tests for avionics platforms.
4) Expectations
- Lead setup and configuration of test environments to replicate production environments.
- Familiar with automated testing methodologies and frameworks for rapid test execution.
- Willingness to use AI Tools in HIL development; familiarity is a plus but not required.
- Collaborate with CI/CD (Dev Sec Ops ) teams to integrate software deployment with HIL testing environments.
- Proficient in NI Test Stand, NI Veri Stand, and NI LabVIEW for HIL testing and automation (or similar HIL platforms).
- Strong collaboration with cross-functional teams and a fast-paced development mindset.
- Advise on test environment setup and data configurations to replicate production environments.
- Familiarity with FPGA testing/architecture is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with NI PXIe systems and hardware integration.
- Knowledge of avionics communication protocols (MIL-STD-1553, ARINC 429, CAN) is a plus.
- Experience in verifying and validating avionics display systems is a plus.
- Strong programming skills in C/C++, Python, MATLAB or similar; excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Familiar with data acquisition and signal processing techniques; experience with version control (e.g., Git).
- Experienced with automated test and verification; comfortable with lab and hardware systems/equipment.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience):
- Bachelor’s degree and typically 3+ years of experience in a software engineering classification or a Master’s degree with 1 year of experience.
- Must be able to work onsite in Cambridge, MA
- No relocation offered
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Education or experience in modern HIL techniques and/or use of AI Tools
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance if sponsored.
