About the Role

As a Software Engineer – Test & Verification, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, safety, and performance of next‑generation aerospace software. You will support advanced software initiatives involving CI/CD pipelines, AI‑driven tools, and hardware‑in‑the‑loop (HIL) testing. This opportunity offers multiple experience levels, with compensation aligned to your background and expertise.

Job Title: Software Engineer – Test & Verification

Job Type: Full‑time;
Consultant (12 months)

Location: Cambridge

Schedule: Monday–Friday | First Shift (9:00 AM–5:00 PM) | 9x80 schedule

Pay Rate Starting at: $68.86 per hour, based on experience and level

Work Environment: Fully onsite

Overtime: Possible but not expected

What You’ll Do

In this high‑impact role, you will:

  • Set up and configure hardware, software, and network test environments that replicate real‑world production systems.

  • Design and develop comprehensive test strategies, plans, cases, and scenarios.

  • Execute functional, performance, and safety testing to ensure software quality and reliability.

  • Identify, analyze, and document defects, vulnerabilities, and system issues.

  • Provide detailed test results and collaborate with engineering teams to resolve issues.

  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks to improve efficiency.

  • Create and manage test documentation, metrics, and artifacts in compliance with data privacy and security standards.

  • Support CI/CD and Dev Sec Ops  processes, integrating testing into automated workflows.

  • Build and maintain Hardware‑In‑the‑Loop (HIL) automation systems for avionics platforms.

  • Collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders to refine requirements and improve system testability.

  • Utilize AI tools to enhance test coverage, automation, and validation processes.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, chemistry, or related field with 3+ years of software engineering experience, or a Master’s degree with 1+ year of experience.

  • Strong programming skills in C, C++, Python, MATLAB, or similar languages.

  • Experience in automated testing and test verification methodologies.

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities.

  • Ability to work onsite in Cambridge, MA (no relocation offered).

  • Must be eligible to obtain a Security Clearance.

  • This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies:
    1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or
    2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Hardware‑In‑the‑Loop testing and automation.

  • Proficiency in NI Test Stand, NI Veri Stand, NI LabVIEW, or similar HIL platforms.

  • Hands‑on experience with NI PXIe systems and hardware integration.

  • Familiarity with avionics communication protocols such as MIL‑STD‑1553, ARINC 429, and CAN.

  • Knowledge of FPGA architecture or testing.

  • Experience validating avionics display systems.

  • Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.

  • Experience with CI/CD and Dev Sec Ops  workflows.

  • Education or experience in modern HIL techniques and AI tools.
