Job Description SummaryDraper’s contested environment Integration and Test (I&T) group is looking for an experienced electronics testing engineer with a strong history of test definition, planning, execution, and reporting. The candidate should be well versed in working with a wide variety of test instrumentation and in developing control software. An ideal candidate would also have experience conducting field tests, working with memory or digital devices, and performing radiation testing.
(Radiation testing experience is preferred but not mandatory; this role offers a good opportunity to develop that skill set.) The role will require working with one or more teams to evaluate, refine, and validate components and hardware designs intended to operate in extremely challenging environments. Some travel and work out of the Draper Cambridge office are required.
- Able to take ownership of assignments and guide others as needed; successfully lead tasks while tracking priorities, scope, cost and schedule.
- Derive plans, approaches, and procedures for solving complex I&T problems across a program lifecycle, capturing all assumptions and adapting appropriately to changes in requirements with limited direction.
- Independently contribute high‑quality content for technical reports and presentations, demonstrating understanding of the task and awareness of the intended audience.
- Identify program/system‑level technical risks and develop and execute mitigation strategies.
- Actively mentor less experienced engineers and provide thoughtful, constructive feedback.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Curiosity‑driven approach to solving complex, industry and customer‑driven problems as part of a multi‑disciplinary team.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively and openly with multi‑disciplinary program team members, program leadership, and non‑technical personnel.
- Be a team player able to work in a fast‑paced environment with the ability to balance multiple competing tasks and demands.
Requires a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Applied Physics, or a related field.
ExperienceRequires 5–7 years in Systems Engineering or a relevant role.
Additional InformationCandidates are expected to work primarily out of Draper’s Cambridge, MA office.
Travel to support testing and other efforts will be required. Less than 25% of the year is expected.
This position will require acquiring and maintaining an active government security clearance. Active clearances are preferred.
