Summary:

A Mixed-Signal Electronic Design Engineer designs, develops, tests, and oversees the manufacturing of electrical printed circuit boards (PCBs), analog and digital circuits, electronic equipment, sensors, motors, radar and navigation systems.

The Tailored Systems Business Area within Electronics Program Office directorate delivers first-of-a-kind field-ready microelectronics solutions in support of National Security missions. The Draper team is chartered with supporting the Nation’s most challenging problems by
1) providing an iterative and agile approach to innovative and creative technical solutions delivered at the speed of mission and
2) driving leading edge technology development efforts to support future mission needs. This role will support a large multi-disciplinary team as part of a long-standing, fast-paced contract with history of immense success. Apply to be part of this incredibly talented and dedicated Draper team!

You will:

Support system architecture design and trade studies

Will review and support proposal development and project execution

Understand detailed electrical analysis and design for mixed-signal electronics

Schematic capture, simulation, and PCB layout/oversight, prototypes bring up and debugging, functional verification and performance characterization

Job Description:

Duties/Responsibilities Translate project and system requirements into well-defined hardware architectures working with cross-functional teams.

Design and/or complete instruments including microprocessors, power, and analog components.

Innovatively solve issues, drive completion of the project to schedule, and collaboratively work with other technical contributors.

Build and test prototypes, debug, and prepare documentation for manufacturing, and support.

Research and enable innovative solutions for cutting-edge designs.

Engage other engineers and partners to develop reliable, cost effective and solutions for products.

Collaborate and communicate with management, internal, and development partners regarding design status, project progress, and issue resolution.

Independently executes assignments under the oversight of program leadership.

Eager to learn new technical skills and expand their depth/technical knowledge.

Contributes content for technical reports and presentations with appropriate guidance.

Adapt appropriately to changes in program requirements.

Identify challenges associated with assigned work and communicate them to project leadership.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Skills/Abilities Proficiency in electronic design, microprocessor or embedded computing.

Understanding of design and general computer architecture.

Ability to write detailed design specifications.

Computer programming and coding abilities.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent mathematical skills.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Excellent time management skills with the proven ability to meet deadlines.

Thorough understanding of engineering theories and procedures.

Education Bachelor's degree in Electronic or Electrical Engineering or related field. Master's Degree preferred.

Experience0-2 years experience in Electronic or Electrical Engineering or related.

Additional

Job Description:

Technical capability with strong electrical engineering fundamentals

Basic experience with microcontroller software (using C/C++/or assembly), and FPGA firmware (VHDL or Verilog). Ability to develop code for bring-up tests or simple demos.
