Job Description SummaryDraper is seeking a Science and Technology (S&T) lead for our Hardened Microelectronics Lab Fellowship within our engineering organization. Reporting to the Principal Director for Science and Technology, the role aligns microelectronics engineering technology development with corporate strategy and the strategies of individual business offices. The Fellow will shape technical strategies and integrated development plans with business offices, support the pursuit and capture of external programs within the DoD S&T community (DARPA, ONR, AFRL, NRL) and commercial partners, and oversee execution of these S&T projects.
Responsibilities- Independently drive solutions to complex, multidisciplinary problems with a deep understanding of a customer’s strategic priorities.
- Assist customers with shaping their needs and develop requirements for programs that solve their most challenging technical problems.
- Lead and develop large teams; mentor and build depth for their area of expertise, and cultivate mentorship in others.
- Nationally recognized subject matter expert in a discipline with broad knowledge across related technical disciplines.
- Shape Draper’s technology offerings and open new business areas based on program and technical experience.
- Analyze Draper strategy and work with management to build capability in key areas that align Draper’s capabilities with customer strategic priorities.
- Identify and mitigate risks common among multiple programs and technology areas.
- Excellent communication and written skills; established at presenting technical material to various levels of the engineering organization and customers.
- Excellent planning skills and ability to lead strategic planning efforts.
- Excellent proposal development and/or strategic capture skills.
- Excellent program management skills and/or customer service skills.
- Capable of leading large, technically diverse, cutting‑edge projects.
- Ability to advance state‑of‑the‑art solutions and techniques in their field.
- Master’s degree or equivalent in an applicable discipline; an advanced degree is preferred.
- 20+ years of experience in engineering, design, development, and management of complex systems, including supervising large teams.
- Applicants selected for this position must obtain and maintain a government security clearance. Secret or higher is preferred.
