Process Development Associate - Onsite

Aptask Global Workforce (AGW) is seeking a Process Development Associate for an on-site position with a Global Biotechnology Company located in Cambridge, MA. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.

This is a 100% on-site, lab-based role supporting the development, characterization, and scale-up of upstream and downstream processes for clinical programs. The successful candidate will work on downstream chromatography, including purification through use of AKTAs and NFF/TFF filtration systems, process sampling, and sample submission. This position may require occasional weekend work.

Responsibilities:

• Design and execute experiments at the bench scale, spanning the end-to-end drug substance process
• Independently execute lab operations, including setting up and running AKTA or filtration units, sampling, and analysis
• Support the development, characterization, scale-up, and support of upstream and downstream processes
• Utilize high throughput technologies (e.g., TECAN)
• Manage experimental documentation in an electronic notebook system
• Compile, verify, and analyze data
• Manage equipment maintenance and reliability

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree
• OR Associate degree and 4 years of scientific experience
• Must have hands-on lab experience and at least one year working on similar projects
• Experience with chromatography
• Experience with filtration

Desired skills:

• Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Life Sciences, or other relevant sciences
• Prior working experience with AKTA (non-educational)
• Basic understanding of cell culture and/or protein chromatography and filtration principles
• Hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture and/or purification operations
• Experience with data analytical tools (Excel, Spotfire, etc.)
• Experience with statistical analysis and programming in JMP, R, and/or Python
• Familiarity with design of experiments and statistical analysis of data
• Prior experience with project management

Pay range: up to $26.62 per hour
