Proclinical is seeking an Electromechnical Technician to join a dynamic team in Cambridge. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment at the intersection of cutting‑edge technology and biotechnology.
Primary Responsibilities- Assemble, install, and calibrate custom electromechanical equipment and automated systems using 3D CAD models, blueprints, and schematics.
- Support engineers and scientists in prototyping test stands, fixtures, and experimental setups, including mechanical assembly and light machine work.
- Perform electrical wiring, cable routing, and component mounting for automation panels, instruments, and workcells, including sensors, actuators, control boards, and pneumatic components.
- Participate in the integration, bring‑up, and debugging of automation subsystems, working closely with controls and software engineers.
- Execute maintenance, repairs, upgrades, and alignments on complex equipment.
- Provide real‑time feedback to engineering teams regarding design issues or opportunities for improvement.
- Maintain accurate documentation on builds, repairs, troubleshooting, and component history.
- Ensure safe working conditions and compliance with lab and industry standards during all fabrication, assembly, and testing activities.
- Associate degree in electro‑mechanical technology, mechatronics, industrial maintenance, or related field, or equivalent technical training/certification.
- Advanced skills in mechanical assembly and electrical diagnostics, including the use of hand tools, measuring equipment, and basic machine tools.
- Ability to read and interpret 3D CAD models, mechanical drawings, and 2D electrical schematics.
- Familiarity with PLCs (e.g., Allen‑Bradley, Siemens, Beckhoff), motor controllers, actuators, sensors, and industrial automation components.
- Experience in assembling and troubleshooting electrical, pneumatic, fluid, or thermal systems.
- Knowledge of industry safety procedures and compliance requirements (e.g., electrical code, LOTO, OSHA).
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with adaptability in fast‑paced environments.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills across multiple engineering domains.
- Excellent time management and ability to handle multiple projects with minimal supervision.
- Hands‑on experience supporting interdisciplinary R&D teams in prototype development.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling (Solid Works preferred) and drafting tools like AutoCAD.
- Experience assembling control panels, wiring PLCs, or working at the panel‑component level.
- Familiarity with digital maintenance/documentation tools (e.g., CMMS, ERP, Kanban, Wikis).
- Certifications such as CMRT, OSHA 10‑30, or PLC programming credentials.
- Experience in cleanroom, laboratory automation, or regulated R&D environments.
- Customer or vendor‑facing experience for component sourcing or troubleshooting.
- $30.00 - $37.00 Per Hour
