As part of the Software Engineering Division, the Operating Systems and Emulators Group focuses on leadership in RTOS selection, development, and customization for optimal system performance. The group has deep expertise in multi-core processors & GPUs, microkernels, OSAL implementation, secure boot loaders, and overall system security. It delivers cutting-edge solutions to embedded computer technology problems through its Operating System Center of Excellence, which is a national leader in real-time operating systems optimized for specific architectures, platforms, and mission requirements.
These systems support hypersonic weapons, autonomous and collaborative systems, integrated air and missile defense, global strike, and other critical defense missions.
- Manage administrative details and career development for group members.
- Convey relevant information from management to group members.
- Lead, mentor, build depth in area of expertise, and conduct performance evaluations of group members.
- Maintain awareness of staffing requirements, write job requisitions for hiring, review and disposition incoming resumes, and conduct interviews.
- Serve as Lead Subject Matter Expert for area of specialty.
- Shape Draper’s technology offerings and open new business areas based on program and technical experience.
- Analyze Draper strategy and work with management to build capability in key areas that align Draper’s capabilities with customer strategic priorities.
- Excellent communication and written skills.
- Excellent ability to present technical material to various levels of the engineering organization and customers.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong supervisory ability for a team of 10-20.
Requires a degree in engineering or a related discipline.
Experience5-7 years of experience in the engineering, design, development, and management of complex systems.
Preferred Qualifications- Foundational experience in operating system technologies used in guidance, navigation, and control hardware for complex systems.
- Technical leadership experience serving as a Technical Director, Task Leader, or Principal Investigator in the development of new technologies and applications.
- Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM), and direct experience in cost and schedule management of tasks.
- Experience leading or contributing to technical and cost proposals.
Applicants selected for this position will be required to obtain and maintain a government security clearance. Secret clearance is required.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $82,300.00 - $. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
