Job Overview – Fund Accountant (Private Equity)

Compensation: $90,000 – $100,000/year + bonus

Location:

Essex County, MA

Schedule:

Monday to Friday (In-Office)

Atlantic Group is hiring a Fund Accountant (Private Equity) in Essex County, MA for our client, supporting fund accounting, financial reporting, and operational processes across private equity vehicles. This role works closely with internal finance and investment teams to manage fund activity, capital transactions, and reporting deliverables. The position offers exposure to private equity fund structures, performance metrics, and accounting processes while utilizing tools such as Excel.

Responsibilities

as the Fund Accountant (Private Equity)
  • Cash Management:
    Monitor daily cash activity and perform bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy.
  • Fund Accounting:
    Record journal entries and maintain general ledgers across multiple fund entities.
  • Capital Activity:
    Prepare capital call and distribution calculations and support investor communications.
  • Financial Reporting:
    Generate quarterly financial statements and support income allocation processes.
  • Performance Metrics:
    Calculate fund performance metrics including IRR and MOIC.
  • Audit Support:
    Assist with year-end audits and coordinate with external auditors.
Qualifications for the Fund Accountant (Private Equity)
  • Education:

    Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with strong academic performance is required.
  • Experience:

    1-3 years of experience in public accounting, fund accounting, or investment management is required.
  • Industry Knowledge:
    Understanding of private equity fund structures, capital activity, and financial reporting is preferred.
  • Technical

    Skills:

    Strong Excel skills are required, with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Skills & Attributes:
    Strong attention to detail, communication skills, ability to manage multiple priorities, and interest in private equity are required.
