Due to growth, a new Tax Team has been established within our partner, a major University endowment, who is looking to hire a Senior Tax Analyst to join and help with both investment/tax strategy as well as research in support of the University Finance department, reporting to the VP of Finance.

Key Details
- Work arrangement: Hybrid, with 3 days onsite in Cambridge, MA / 2 days remote
- Compensation: $130,000-$140,000 base salary
- Bonus & Benefits: $10,000-$20,000 annual bonus, based on individual and organizational performance. There are also exceptional benefits for the full-time University staff
This is not a routine tax role. You’ll join a newly built tax function supporting a major institutional investment operation and work directly on meaningful tax research, compliance, reporting, and strategy initiatives.

Responsibilities- Partner with finance and tax leadership to support preparation and review of tax filings tied to investment entities
- Assist with tax compliance and reporting across a variety of domestic and international structures
- Review returns prepared by outside advisors and consultants for accuracy and completeness
- Conduct tax research and help evaluate implications of new investments, structures, and jurisdictions
- Support reporting related to net investment income, excise tax exposure, and unrelated business taxable income
- Help build and improve tax calendars, controls, and filing processes for a growing function
- Collaborate cross-functionally with accounting, operations, and reporting teams
- Contribute to audit support and regulatory reporting activities
- Help ensure accurate financial reporting tied to investment-related tax matters
- 6+ years of tax experience, ideally including private investment fund, institutional, or complex partnership tax work
- Experience preparing or reviewing tax returns such as partnerships and other investment-related filings
- Strong understanding of tax treatment across investment vehicles and fund structures
- Experience working with external tax preparers, auditors, or consultants
- Strong research skills and the ability to analyze complex tax issues
- Comfortable working in a less structured, build-oriented environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA
- Public accounting background, ideally with strong tax training
- Experience in institutional investment, endowment, fund, or related financial environments
- Exposure to liquid and illiquid investment structures
- Familiarity with GAAP accounting considerations tied to investment funds
- Experience supporting tax structuring decisions and regulatory compliance processes
