About This Role

As the Finance Partner, R&D (Manager), you will be the finance lead supporting clinical development programs, business development R&D modeling, and other projects as necessary—providing program-level financial leadership and hands-on clinical trial financial oversight.

What You’ll Do
  • Build and manage detailed clinical study budgets (per protocol, per patient, per country/site)
  • Track trial spend across categories (CROs, FSP/FSO, investigative sites, labs, vendors)
  • Oversee change orders, pass-through costs, and contract modifications; partner with Accounting for month-end close
  • Monitor enrollment assumptions and cost drivers impacting forecasts
  • Conduct variance analysis and identify financial risks to timelines or budgets
  • Support negotiation and financial evaluation of vendor contracts
  • Serve as primary finance business partner for one or more development programs
  • Lead annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and long-range planning
  • Develop integrated program financial models (risk-adjusted, scenario-based)
  • Support portfolio prioritization and stage-gate investment decisions
  • Provide R&D financial modeling for business development and licensing opportunities
  • Present financial updates, risk assessments, and investment scenarios to senior leadership
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal financial policies
Required Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
  • 5+ years finance experience (investment banking or Pharm/Biotech preferred)
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling; ERP and Hyperion planning experience
  • Strong business partnering and communication; high integrity and attention to detail
  • Process improvement mindset
