Job Description & How to Apply Below
The Role:
As the Finance AD/D, you will be the most senior finance leader in the US, acting as a strategic business partner to the General Manager. You will wear two hats: a Strategic Advisor (driving budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation) and a Hands‑on Controller (ensuring US GAAP compliance, managing closing, and overseeing tax/audit). You will serve as the critical bridge between the US site and Global HQ in China.
Key Responsibilities:- Financial Operations & Reporting (Hands‑on Leadership):
- Oversee all daily financial activities for the US entity, including General Ledger, AP/AR, Payroll, and Treasury.
- Manage the month‑end/year‑end closing process; prepare accurate financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.
- Convert and reconcile financial data to meet Group reporting standards (PRC GAAP/IFRS) for HQ consolidation.
- Lead the implementation and optimization of financial systems (ERP) and internal workflows suitable for a growing biotech organization.
- FP&A & Strategic Business Partnering:
- Lead the annual budgeting and rolling forecast processes.
- Provide financial insights to R&D leadership on clinical trial spending, project ROI, and burn‑rate analysis.
- Manage cash flow forecasting and funding requests to ensure operational liquidity.
- Compliance, Tax & Internal Control:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors, tax advisors, and banks.
- Ensure compliance with all Federal, State (MA), and local tax regulations, including R&D Tax Credits.
- Establish and monitor internal controls (SOX‑lite) to mitigate risk and ensure compliance with Group policies.
- 7-10 years of progressive finance experience, with at least 3 years in a management role.
- Industry Agnostic: Prior experience in Pharma/Biotech is preferred, but NOT required. We welcome candidates from High Tech, Manufacturing, Consumer Goods, or other sectors.
- Experience working in a US subsidiary of a global company (handling cross‑border reporting) is a strong plus.
- Bilingual fluency in Mandarin and English (Written & Verbal) is mandatory for HQ collaboration.
- Fast Learner: Willingness to quickly learn the specific accounting nuances of the pharmaceutical industry (e.g., R&D tax credits, clinical accruals).
- Hands‑on: Comfortable working in a lean team environment where you manage both high‑level strategy and daily execution.
