Are you a business or operations professional with a passion for driving efficiency and creating forward-looking strategies in a fast-paced, innovative environment? The AIML PM team is seeking a dynamic Director of Business Operations to join our organization and make a significant impact accelerating Apple’s overall AIML strategy.

In this critical role, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of critical initiatives which includes cost optimizations, compute efficiency, and data acquisition as well in-depth financial and technical analyses. As a key member of our leadership team, you will collaborate closely with executive stakeholders to ensure that our teams are improving every aspect of our budget spend. Additionally, you will develop and implement a robust set of analytics to measure the organization's impact and drive data-driven decision-making.

Description

  • Manage a small but high-performing team of Financial and Operations Analysts
  • Develop and implement cost optimization strategies across the organization
  • Manage compute resources to ensure efficient utilization and cost-effectiveness
  • Conduct comprehensive financial and technical analyses to identify areas for improvement
  • Communicate insights and recommendations to executive teams and partners
  • Foster a culture of discipline and accountability throughout the organization
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in financial operations and AI development
  • Align teams across Apple on strategic vision to advance ML across our products, software and services

Minimum Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in business operations, preferably in a technology, data-centric or AIML-focused organization
  • Strong analytical skills and expertise in financial modeling and forecasting
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders
  • Proven track record of driving efficiency and cost savings in a fast-paced environment
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred

Key Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in financial operations, preferably in a technology or AI-focused organization
  • Strong analytical skills and expertise in financial modeling and forecasting
  • Deep understanding of compute management and cost optimization strategies
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial concepts to non-finance partners
  • Proven track record of driving efficiency and cost savings in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working understanding of the accelerator landscape across the industry
  • Understanding of and experience with implementing cost optimization strategies
  • Knowledge of modern machine learning technologies, frameworks, and development methodologies

Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $279,300 and $446,300, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
