If you're an experienced Government Contracts professional who thrives on managing complex federal contracts from proposal through closeout, this is an opportunity to join a highly collaborative team supporting critical national security and defense programs. We're looking for a Contract Representative III who can confidently navigate the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), lead negotiations, mitigate contractual risk, and serve as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders and government customers.
This is a highly visible role with significant involvement in capture strategy, proposal development, contract negotiations, and contract administration throughout the entire contract lifecycle.
What You'll Do
As a Contract Representative III, you'll independently manage a portfolio of complex government contracts while partnering with program management, finance, legal, business development, and executive leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the complete cradle-to-grave administration of federal contracts, including BOAs, IDIQs, OTAs, R&D, EMD, and production contracts.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for government customers on contractual matters.
- Support and lead contractual activities throughout the Business Winning Process, from capture planning through contract award.
- Develop negotiation strategies that maximize business opportunities while minimizing contractual risk.
- Partner with capture and proposal teams to review solicitations, evaluate contract terms, and shape favorable pre-award outcomes.
- Lead compliance efforts related to the Truthful Cost or Pricing Data Act, including disclosures, proposal sweeps, and certifications.
- Analyze contract terms and conditions, identify risks, and recommend practical business solutions.
- Drive contract setup, administration, modifications, and change management activities.
- Interpret contract requirements throughout execution and resolve contractual issues between customers and internal teams.
- Support negotiations for equitable adjustments, contract modifications, and change proposals.
- Maintain complete and accurate contract files and oversee contract closeout activities.
- Mentor junior contract professionals and provide guidance on best practices and regulatory compliance.
What We're Looking For
We're seeking a contracts professional who combines strong federal contracting knowledge with exceptional communication, negotiation, and business judgment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Contracts, Legal Studies, or a related field. Equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience will be considered.
- 5–10+ years of experience managing U.S. Government contracts.
- Strong working knowledge of:
Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), Government contract lifecycle management, Contract types including IDIQ, BOA, OTA, Cost Reimbursable, Fixed Price, and Time & Materials. - Experience supporting proposal development, contract negotiations, and contract execution.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build relationships across multiple business functions.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while meeting critical deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting aerospace, defense, or national security programs.
- Advanced degree in Business, Law, Finance, or related discipline.
- Professional certification such as:
Certified Federal Contracts Manager (CFCM), Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM). - Knowledge of intellectual property considerations in government contracting.
- Experience mentoring junior contracts professionals.
Security Clearance
Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance. Preferred:
Current active Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI eligibility.
