POSITION SUMMARY:

The Health Equity Manager will work under the general supervision of the Director of Health Equity (Population Health Incentives team) and will support the OBGYN-related deliverables of the Massachusetts Medicaid Hospital Health Equity Incentive Program (HEIP). The Manager will be responsible for monitoring performance of requirements, managing performance improvement projects, timely submission of deliverables to Mass Health, and supporting the overall culture of health equity  Health Equity Manager is responsible for working collaboratively with the clinical Co‑Directors of the Equity in Pregnancy initiative, clinician, operational and nursing leadership within the OB/GYN department, and the Health Equity Accelerator central team to develop and execute on multiple equity initiatives focused on pregnant patients at Boston Medical Center.

This role functions as the end‑to‑end owner of program planning, execution, monitoring, and sustainability, translating strategic direction into operational reality.

Full Time ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:
  • Lead and manage assigned programs and portfolios with full accountability for scope, timeline, budget, quality, outcomes, and regulatory compliance; translate strategic goals into actionable plans with defined milestones, dependencies, and success metrics.
  • Define and monitor KPIs and outcome measures; drive clinical, SDOH, and patient experience improvements through quality initiatives, staff training, risk mitigation, and continuous process optimization.
  • Partner with clinical teams, vendors, and the Pregnancy, Equity, and Innovation team to evolve program models, propose new clinical and SDOH services, ensure culturally responsive, integrated care delivery.
  • Establish program governance, proactively identify and mitigate risks, manage interdependencies, and build strong collaborative relationships across medical, nursing, administrative, and external partners.
  • Serve as the central communications lead for assigned programs, articulating program goals to partners, funders, and the public, and collaborating with Development and program leadership to identify funding sources, develop proposals and case statements, secure grants, donations, and major gifts to meet program budget needs.
  • Support evaluation of the Equity in Pregnancy intervention portfolio by partnering with research and analytics teams to develop dashboards and reporting, track equity and quality outcomes, and lead regular performance reviews and data‑driven problem‑solving with stakeholders.
  • Lead administrative operations including staff coordination, data management and analytics collaboration, preparation of quarterly and annual reports for internal and external stakeholders, and oversight of project budgets, projections, and grant disbursements to ensure financial and reporting compliance.
  • Adhere to hospital standards of performance, conduct, safety, infection control, and patient rights; apply organizational behavioral standards in decision‑making and perform other duties as required to support the hospital’s mission and quality of care.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:

Requires a bachelor’s degree (Masters preferred) with an emphasis on business administration, healthcare administration, population health, or public health.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

REQUIRED:

None required.

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible program or project management experience, preferably in healthcare, public sector, or complex nonprofit environments.

Demonstrated experience independently managing large, complex, cross‑functional initiatives.

Experience with budget management, grants, or externally funded programs strongly preferred.

Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
