Department DescriptionThe Cardiovascular Department at Cambridge Health Alliance provides a full range of tests to evaluate the health of a patient's heart and blood vessels. As an Echocardiography Accredited Facility, the lab utilizes state-of-the-art equipment for services including Echocardiograms, Electrocardiograms (EKG), various stress tests, and vascular testing. The lab also offers Holter and Cardiac event monitors and runs a device clinic for in-person and remote checks on pacemakers, defibrillators, and loop recorders.
These services are available at two locations, Cambridge Hospital and Everett Hospital.
Performs a broad spectrum of non-invasive cardiovascular tests to provide medical specialists with data for diagnostic purposes. Performs a wide range of cardiovascular non-invasive tests according to an established protocol, in a manner that effectively promotes and supports the efficient operation of the department. Tests performed include cardiovascular 2‑D imaging, color flow, spectral display, continuous and pulsed wave Doppler, exercise/pharmacologic stress, harmonics and contrast imaging, Holter scanning.
Recognizes adequate vs inadequate data collection, prepares preliminary reports for physician interpretation, recognizes abnormalities and life‑threatening findings and reports to physician or nursing unit as indicated. Documents notifications as part of Quality Improvement activities.
Education/Training: Accredited Allied Health Program, registry eligible
Certifications: American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS Healthcare Provider
Work Experience: Previous clinical background required
