Pride Health is hiring a Phlebotomist to support our client's medical facility in Somerville, MA 02144. This is a 4+ month contract assignment (Possibility of conversion or extension) and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!
Job Details:

Somerville, MA 02144 - Job Type: 4+ months (Possibility of extension or conversion)
- Schedule:
Sunday through Thursday. (Monday thru Thursday 8:00am - 4:30pm) and Sunday 9:00am - 5:30pm. - Pay Range: $21/hr - $23.40/hr on W2
Specific Duties:
- Collect blood and non-blood specimens (urine, sputum, throat swabs) using proper collection techniques.
- Perform venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks while ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Verify patient information, test orders, labels, and specimen accuracy.
- Prepare collection equipment and maintain proper specimen handling and storage.
- Process, label, and document specimens for laboratory testing.
- Perform waived/moderately complex tests, quality control, and equipment maintenance as assigned.
- Conduct EKG and Holter monitor testing when required.
- Maintain accurate records, daily collection logs, and computer documentation.
- Provide excellent patient service, answer questions, and assist with front desk duties.
- Maintain clean work areas, restock supplies, and follow safety/PPE procedures.
- Assist with training new employees and student interns as assigned.
- Communicate effectively with laboratory staff, medical teams, and supervisors.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Completion of an accredited Phlebotomy Technician training program preferred.
- Phlebotomy Technician (PBT) certification required/preferred.
- CPR certification and American Heart Association BLS preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and laboratory procedures.
- Experience with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and Electronic Medical Records (EMR) preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow safety procedures, handle biohazard materials, and maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to perform accurate specimen collection, processing, and documentation.
