The CHA laboratory provides a range of services from routine blood and urine tests to tissue evaluation.
Job Purpose: Utilizes clinical laboratory technology principles to perform and report tests, promoting efficient laboratory operation and effective patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Understand and adhere to quality control protocols.
- Perform quality control tests as per guidelines, reporting outliers and recording data.
- Perform daily and monthly instrument procedures accurately.
- Troubleshoot QC and instrument failures, contacting technical support as needed.
- Familiar with cytology preparation, staining, and cover slipping techniques.
- Screens and diagnoses gynecologic (PAP smears) and non-gynecologic cytology smears, responsible for final diagnosis of negatives.
- Understand lab workflow and assist with problem-solving.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications/Requirements: BS/BA in biological sciences and CT (ASCP) certification.
