Medical Director, Clinical Science

As Medical Director, Clinical Science in GI at Takeda, you will shape clinical strategy and evidence generation for key gastroenterology programs. You will lead design and execution of global clinical trials, provide medical oversight, and interpret complex data to inform development decisions. Partner with regulatory, safety, biostatistics, and commercial teams to ensure robust study design and submission readiness. You will represent Takeda with investigators and key opinion leaders, champion patient safety, and uphold ethical, patient-centric standards in a collaborative, science-driven culture.

Responsibilities

• Lead clinical strategy and evidence generation for GI development programs
• Design and oversee global clinical trials, ensuring scientific rigor and patient safety
• Provide medical monitoring and interpret clinical data to guide development decisions
• Collaborate with regulatory, safety, biostatistics, and commercial teams on submissions
• Engage and communicate with investigators, key opinion leaders, and external partners
• Ensure compliance with GCP, ethical standards, and internal governance processes
• Contribute to clinical sections of protocols, CSRs, publications, and regulatory documents
• Support lifecycle management and indication expansion strategies for GI assets
