Position: Director, Global Medical Lead, Zasocitinib – Psoriatic Arthritis (PsA)

Objectives:

  • Accountable for development, implementation, and ongoing optimization of the global medical strategy for zasocitinib in PsA.
  • Provide Director-level medical leadership and strategic counsel on product profile, data interpretation, benefit-risk, evidence gaps, and external scientific dynamics.
  • Lead the global PsA Medical Strategy Team; coordinate medical sub-teams and matrix partners for integrated, timely execution.
  • Define the medical evidence and scientific communications plan; translate insights from patients, HCPs, and external experts into action.
  • Enable global-to-local medical strategy deployment with regional/affiliate medical teams while considering local practice, access, regulatory, and stakeholder needs.
  • Model scientific excellence, inclusive collaboration, compliance, accountability, and patient focus; mentor matrix colleagues.
Accountabilities:
  • Global medical lead and single-point medical accountable leader for zasocitinib in PsA (reporting to GMUH, Rheumatology).
  • Partner to define and execute a multi-year global medical vision, integrated strategy, and evidence plan across the PsA lifecycle.
  • Translate PsA science, patient unmet need, and stakeholder insights into medical priorities (launch preparedness, evidence generation, scientific communications, lifecycle opportunities).
  • Lead a global cross-functional medical matrix across Clinical Development, Regulatory, Pharmacovigilance, Commercial, Market Access, HEOR, DD&T, regions, and affiliates.
  • Chair/lead MST work streams; provide medical recommendations, risk assessments, and decision input to GPT and governance forums.
  • Establish strategic priorities/milestones/KPIs; monitor execution, resolve barriers, and elevate risks.
  • Act as scientific steward for scientifically rigorous, compliant, patient-centered content and engagement; oversee evidence-generation strategy (RWE, investigator-sponsored research, partnerships, publications).
  • Build relationships with thought leaders, societies, patient advocacy groups; represent Takeda in high-impact forums.
  • Provide senior medical review/approval input for scientific and promotional/non-promotional materials; manage medical/evidence/safety/regulatory/reputational risks.
  • Champion responsible use of digital/data science/AI to strengthen insight generation and patient/HCP experience.
Education/Experience &

Qualifications:
  • Required:

    advanced scientific/clinical degree (MD, DO, MBBS, PharmD, PhD, or equivalent). Strongly preferred: rheumatology/immunology/dermatology specialist experience.
  • Typically 8-12+ years in biopharmaceutical medical affairs, clinical development, or related; meaningful global/regional strategic leadership.
  • Strong experience leading medical strategy/execution in a matrixed organization; pre-launch/launch and/or lifecycle-management preferred.
  • Proven expertise in rheumatology, immunology, and/or psoriatic arthritis.
  • Required:

    evidence generation, publications, scientific communications, external expert engagement, global medical governance.
  • Working knowledge of global pharmaceutical laws, regulations, and industry medical/commercial boundary requirements.
  • Preferred: digital/analytics/AI-enabled approaches.
Skills:
  • Strategic and enterprise mindset; ability to interpret clinical/safety/RWE/competitive data and communicate clearly to technical/non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders in a global matrix; judgment/integrity in regulated environments.
