Overview

Associate Director, Global HR Business Partner (HRBP) serves as a strategic advisor to employees, driving the people agenda and evolving the culture in alignment with business priorities to drive growth and patient impact. The role reports to the Sr Director, Human Resources, North America, and works across the North America business unit, partnering with Commercial functions in Rare Disease, Oncology and Neuroscience to ensure strong integration between business and functional priorities.

The position is based in Cambridge, MA, US, as a member of the NA HR team.

Responsibilities
  • Strategic HR Partnership: act as a trusted advisor to business leaders, translating priorities into clear people actions; support the development and execution of people and organizational strategies with senior HRBPs and COEs; bring external insights and best practices for talent and organizational decisions.
  • Organizational Development & Workforce Planning: design and align team structures with business needs; contribute to workforce planning; analyze engagement and performance data to identify themes and recommend targeted interventions; facilitate internal mobility and talent deployment across teams when appropriate.
  • Talent, Leadership & Culture: collaborate on talent and leadership initiatives including succession planning and development; work with HR COEs to implement programs; support talent reviews and follow-through on development actions; coach and influence managers on performance, team effectiveness, and development planning; reinforce a high-performance, inclusive culture aligned with company values; use engagement insights to diagnose dynamics and support action planning.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making & Insights: utilize HR data and dashboards to inform recommendations; translate data into practical insights for business leaders; support evidence-based decisions on talent and organizational topics; promote continuous improvement through data-informed insights.
  • Operational Excellence & Execution: ensure consistent execution of core HR processes such as performance management, compensation cycles, and talent reviews; maintain attention to detail and operational discipline; identify process improvements and provide feedback to HR partners and COEs.
  • Matrix Collaboration & HR Leadership: work effectively within a matrixed HR model, collaborate with COEs and HRBP peers; align across business and HR priorities; build strong relationships to enable coordinated delivery; may mentor junior team members or project teams; model collaboration, accountability, and high performance.
  • External Orientation & Innovation: stay informed on external HR trends and practices; propose ideas to improve processes and programs; contribute to innovation while aligning with broader HR strategies.
Knowledge & Experience
  • Essential:
    Bachelor's degree or equivalent; 8+ years of progressive HR experience in complex, global, matrixed environments; life sciences/biotech/pharmaceutical experience; demonstrated experience supporting commercial organizations and leadership teams; track record delivering change in rapid-growth environments; experience using data and analytics to inform decisions through diverse tools and systems.

Compensation & Benefits

The annual base salary range for this position is $160,000 - $190,000. This role is eligible to participate in the short-term incentives program. Ipsen offers a comprehensive benefits package including 401(k) with company contributions, medical, dental, and vision coverage, life and disability insurance, flexible spending accounts, parental leave, paid time off, winter shutdown, well-being allowance, commuter benefits, and more. The pay range is the base-pay component;

total compensation depends on factors such as education and experience.
