Overview
Sigma Squared is seeking a Staff Machine Learning Engineer to oversee our ML infrastructure and full lifecycle of ML solutions across the platform; from data exploration and modeling to deployment, monitoring, and iteration. You’ll work closely with product, data, and engineering teams to architect scalable AI infrastructure and drive the technical strategy for our AI-powered products. As a senior member of the engineering team, you can expect to own multiple, cross‑functional technical initiatives while also mentoring other engineers and establishing the technical standards that enable rapid innovation with an eye on performance and reliability as we scale.
Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and implement end‑to‑end ML pipelines: data ingestion, preprocessing, feature engineering, model training, evaluation, and deployment.
Monitor model performance, detect drift, and iterate on improvements.
Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to improve data quality and availability.
Work cross‑functionally to translate business problems into ML solutions.
Maintain documentation, experiment tracking, and reproducibility.
Demonstrated experience deploying ML models into production.
Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and ML toolkits (Num Py, Pandas, Scikit‑Learn, PyTorch, Tensor Flow).
Familiarity with MLOps concepts: feature stores, model registries, monitoring, etc.
Cloud infrastructure technology experience and a friendly, flexible disposition.
Ability to communicate clear technical findings to technical and non‑technical audiences.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent additional professional experience.
This role is based in our Cambridge, MA office and is on‑site full time.
