Overview

The Director, Global Content Enablement Platform is responsible for business ownership of Alnylam's web content platforms and for defining the standards, governance, and operating model that enable compliant, scalable digital publishing across global markets.

This role operates with a global‑first mindset. The Director designs publishing frameworks, governance standards, and workflows that can be executed consistently across regions, including markets with differing regulatory, language, and operational requirements. A critical aspect of the role is close partnership with the International Omnichannel Operations lead to ensure these standards are practical, executable, and scalable outside the United States.

The Director, Content Enablement leads a team of content enablement leads and serves as the people manager with individuals based in the U.S. and internationally. Together, this team ensures consistent execution standards across markets while allowing for appropriate regional variation.

Through 2026, the focus will be on stabilizing core platforms, standardizing publishing practices, reducing web risk, and establishing the foundation for modular content reuse. The role partners closely with IT's technical product owners, Marketing Operations, and external vendors, while retaining clear boundaries around technical ownership, which remains with IT.

Key Responsibilities
  • Platform Ownership: Serve as business product owner for Alnylam's CMS platforms, defining priorities and standards aligned with enterprise governance and regulatory requirements.
  • Global Governance & Scalability: Define and enforce web governance standards covering publishing workflows, templates, metadata, tagging, and accessibility, ensuring frameworks are designed for reuse across global markets through configuration rather than customization.
  • International Alignment: Partner closely with the International Omnichannel Operations lead to ensure content enablement standards and workflows are executable and scalable across non‑U.S. markets.
  • Web Operations Model: Define intake, QA, and publishing models that support predictable, compliant delivery across regions, while enabling regional execution through shared standards.
  • DAM Partnership: Partner with Marketing Operations, who own the DAM platform, to define metadata, taxonomy, and asset usage standards that enable modular content reuse and scalable publishing.
  • IT

    Collaboration:

Work closely with IT technical product owners on SDLC alignment, release governance, security controls, and audit readiness, without assuming technical ownership.
  • Vendor & Agency Oversight: Define expectations and operating standards for managed‑service partners responsible for publishing and platform support.
  • Enablement & Adoption: Establish global onboarding and enablement approaches to drive consistent adoption of publishing workflows and governance standards.
  • Continuous Improvement: Monitor platform performance and risk indicators, identifying opportunities to improve stability, efficiency, and scalability over time.
Expected Partnerships & Interfaces
  • International Omnichannel Operations: Ensure global standards translate into executable, market‑ready workflows outside the U.S.
  • IT / Strategic Technology: Align on platform stability, release management, and security controls.
  • Marketing Operations: Align on DAM standards, metadata, and asset readiness for scalable publishing.
  • Brand and Regional Teams: Support application of enterprise publishing standards.
  • External Vendors & Agencies: Oversee performance and adherence to enterprise playbooks.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Digital Media, Engineering, or a related technical or systems‑oriented field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years managing enterprise web platforms in regulated environments, including leadership of global web governance or digital publishing operations.
  • Hands‑on experience with CMS platforms (AEM, Sitecore, Drupal) and familiarity with modular content and reuse frameworks.
  • Demonstrated ability to design publishing standards and operating models that scale across regions.
  • Proven partnership with IT on…
