OverviewLABUR is supporting a pharmaceutical and biotechnology client through a multi-year modernization effort spanning Research & Development (ReDev) and Technical Operations & Quality (TOQ). These initiatives are focused on improving how scientific, manufacturing, and quality data is designed, governed, and integrated across the enterprise to enable better decision‑making, operational efficiency, and regulatory alignment. As part of this effort, we are seeking a Data Architect who can help define and evolve the client’s enterprise data architecture.
This engagement requires a strong architectural foundation combined with experience operating in regulated, data‑intensive environments. The Data Architect will play a critical role in shaping data models, integration strategies, and governance frameworks that support both lab‑adjacent R&D systems and manufacturing and quality platforms, while aligning with broader enterprise standards and modernization objectives.
- Lead the design and evolution of enterprise data architecture supporting ReDev and TOQ initiatives.
- Define and maintain logical and physical data models across scientific, manufacturing, and quality domains.
- Design and guide data integration strategies across R&D systems, lab‑adjacent platforms, and operational systems.
- Establish and promote data governance, data quality, and metadata management practices aligned with enterprise and regulatory standards.
- Partner with engineering teams to ensure architectural decisions support scalability, reliability, and long‑term modernization goals.
- Collaborate with product, analytics, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into durable data solutions.
- Provide architectural guidance on system design decisions to ensure consistency across platforms and initiatives.
- Support efforts to improve data consistency, lineage, and trust across downstream reporting, analytics, and operational use cases.
- 7+ years of experience in data architecture, data modeling, or enterprise data design roles.
- Experience working in pharmaceutical, biotech, life sciences, manufacturing, or other regulated environments.
- Strong understanding of enterprise data architecture principles, including data modeling, integration patterns, and governance.
- Hands‑on experience supporting R&D, scientific, manufacturing, or quality data domains is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with modern data platforms, integration tools, and cloud‑based architectures.
- Ability to partner effectively with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders across the organization.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence architectural direction in complex environments.
- Experience supporting modernization or transformation initiatives is a plus.
