desktop support technician (onsite) – cambridge, maour client is seeking a qualified desktop support technician to join their team onsite in cambridge, ma and provide end‑user support. This role will deliver high‑touch, white‑glove technical support in a fast‑paced enterprise environment. Responsibilities include system deployments, troubleshooting, and end‑user support while ensuring exceptional service delivery. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with servicenow, desktop hardware/software troubleshooting, and enterprise it environments.
This role works a rotating 2‑week schedule.
- deploy and configure new systems, including setup, imaging, software installation, and data migration
- perform install, move, add, and change (imac) activities for desktop hardware and software
- troubleshoot operating system issues across windows, macos, and linux environments
- resolve hardware driver conflicts, user profile corruption, and os errors
- provide white‑glove end‑user support for executives and business teams
- utilize servicenow to track, document, and resolve support tickets
- support trellix, landesk, multi‑factor authentication, and whole‑disk encryption troubleshooting
- assist with certificate access requests and temporary badge support for mfa
- install approved software applications and manage configuration requests
- provide remote access support and troubleshooting
- configure and deploy mobile devices (samsung android devices)
- contribute to knowledge base management, including reviewing, updating, and drafting support documentation
- support security‑related investigations, including malware detection and vulnerability response
- minimum 3 to 5+ years of desktop support experience
- strong experience using servicenow ticketing system
- experience supporting windows 11, microsoft office 365, and common business applications (adobe, etc.)
- knowledge of macos and ubuntu/linux environments
- strong troubleshooting and customer service skills
- experience delivering white‑glove / executive‑level support
the rate for this position is between $25.50–$30.00 per hour
, unless local minimum wage is higher. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
