Generative AI Research Intern – Quantum- ML

We are looking for motivated interns with experience in machine learning and generative AI to join Zapata AI research team for summer 2024. This position will let interns conduct research, exploring the application of Zapata AI's quantum-inspired methods to deliver advantages in diverse real-world use cases, while working alongside and being mentored by industry experts. Responsibilities

• Set up and carry out numerical studies to identify and refine new applications of Zapata AI's quantum-inspired technologies for generative AI.
• Produce high-quality software implementing the intern’s methods and contribute to Zapata AI's in-house software libraries.
• Expand the range of algorithms and models offered within Zapata AI's product, and augment functionalities of existing ones based on feedback from users, customers, and researchers.
• Design, implement and deploy demos based on the research findings.
• Participate in regular group meetings to discuss the intern’s findings and extract high-level insights and future opportunities.
• Summarize the intern’s research findings in a paper for submission to peer-reviewed conferences or journals.

Requirements

• Enrolled in a degree (ideally MS or PhD) in computer science, mathematics, statistics, or physics, with a focus on generative modeling, machine learning or other areas of AI.
• Experience developing software for technical computing in Python, and experience in one or more ML tasks.
• Familiarity with one or more common ML frameworks (e.g., Pytorch, Jax, or Tensorflow) and/or MLOps tools (e.g., MLFlow).
• Knowledge of quantum computing, quantum-inspired techniques (e.g., tensor networks) and quantum machine learning or experience with high-performance computing, such as multithreading, distributed computing, or GPU programming and profiling will be good to have.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ideally with prior academic publications.
• Experience in fast-paced group projects and a willingness to learn new topics in a collaborative setting.
