Senior Delivery Consultant - Modernisation, Professional Services

The Amazon Web Services Professional Services (Pro Serve) team is seeking a skilled Sr. Delivery Consultant to join. In this role you will work closely with customers to design, implement, and manage AWS solutions that meet their technical requirements and business objectives. You will be a key player in driving customer success throughout the cloud journey, providing technical expertise and best practices throughout the project lifecycle.

Possessing a deep understanding of AWS products and services, you will architect complex, scalable, and secure solutions tailored to each customer. You will work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, assess current infrastructure, and propose effective migration strategies. As a trusted advisor you will guide customers on industry trends, emerging technologies, and innovative solutions, leading the implementation process, ensuring adherence to best practices, optimizing performance, and managing risks.

• Designing and implementing complex, scalable, and secure AWS solutions tailored to customer needs
• Providing technical guidance and troubleshooting support throughout project delivery
• Collaborating with stakeholders to gather requirements and propose effective migration strategies
• Acting as a trusted advisor to customers on industry trends and emerging technologies
• Sharing knowledge within the organization through mentoring, training, and creating reusable artifacts

Be a UK national and able to obtain and maintain a UK Government Security Clearance.

• Experience as a technical specialist in design and architecture
• Experience in cloud-based solutions (AWS or equivalent), system, network and operating system
• Experience in external or internal customer facing, complex and large scale project management
• Application modernisation patterns and strategies
• Containerisation technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, EKS)
• Microservices architecture design and implementation
• Serverless computing and event-driven architectures
• API design and management
• Application refactoring and re-platforming techniques
• Cloud-native development practices

• Experience and technical expertise (design and implementation) in cloud computing technologies
• Experience leading the design, development and deployment of business software at scale or recent hands‑on technology infrastructure, network, compute, storage and virtualization experience
• Experience in configuration management using Cloud Formation, Chef & Puppet
• Experience in large-scale migration – data centre to data centre or data centre to cloud infrastructure
• Legacy application assessment and decomposition
• Database modernisation
