Design and implement advanced data science and AI solutions to address scientific and operational challenges within R&D and Medical functions. This includes developing patient analytics capabilities, applying machine learning and statistical modeling, and integrating cutting‑edge technologies such as NLP, large language models (LLMs), and generative AI into core processes.
Responsibilities- Data Science & Analytic Capabilities Building: develop analytic and data‑science solutions supporting strategic and operational needs, apply and test various data‑science approaches to improve operational efficiencies and evidence generation while ensuring scientific robustness.
- Evidence Generation: build data‑engineering pipelines that support analytics and visualization for diverse sources of patient‑level data (healthcare claims, EMRs, PROs, omics, etc.); conduct analyses of patient data sets to support internal decision‑making and evidence generation.
- Stakeholder Engagement: collaborate with internal teams across R&D and Medical Affairs, gather requirements, and contribute to the design and implementation of data‑driven solutions (ML, NLP, data visualization), leveraging diverse data sources (EMR/EHR, claims, PROs, scientific literature).
- Continuous Learning & Innovation: stay abreast of advancements in data science, machine learning, and healthcare technologies; educate and raise awareness of data science potential within Ipsen to generate organizational buy‑in.
- Advanced degree (Ph.D. or Master’s) in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field.
- Extensive experience in analytic/data‑science roles within the pharmaceutical industry.
- Strong methodological and analytical skills in machine learning, deep learning, NLP and other AI approaches; proven experience applying these in healthcare.
- Solid understanding of statistical analysis and hypothesis testing.
- Proficiency in Python and/or R with a focus on healthcare data science.
- Experience working with patient‑level real‑world data, medical data and a strong understanding of healthcare systems.
- Strong communication skills and ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences;
English fluency.
Annual base salary range: $143,250 – $210,100. Eligible for short‑term incentive program.
