You will be instrumental in executing our Generative Engine Optimization (GEO/AEO) strategy, leading cross‑functional efforts to deliver disruptive, best‑in‑class tools. Your work will directly impact our success in the new discovery landscape, securing crucial presence, citations, and positive sentiment across Large Language Models (LLMs) and generative search.
Responsibilities- Defining roadmap to maximize brand and product representation in generative search results and AI assistants
- Tracking trends, insights and actions in the fast‑changing GEO/AEO landscape
- Identifying, recommending and collaborating cross‑functionally on GEO‑first content to outperform in the LLMs
- Participating in the content operations process to ensure adherence to SEO and GEO best practices
- Ensuring all content is optimized for both traditional SEO and emerging GEO requirements (answer‑first formatting, entity optimization, structured content)
- Establishing the operating model across the organization and governance to drive cross‑functional integration and delivery
- Measuring, monitoring and adjusting approach accordingly
- Linking GEO outcomes to business KPIs
- Personalizing approach by LLM for improved outcomes
- Doing the technical work to make our digital properties consumable for LLMs
- Supporting regional partners on country‑level monitoring and insights
- 2 years of relevant SEO, Content Marketing experience and a Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent (GEO/AEO experience preferred)
- Understanding of modern search + LLM ecosystems (including how answers get formed and when citations appear)
- Skilled using SEO technologies and AI tools (e.g. Ahrefs, Gemini, Scrunch, Profound) to accelerate research, mapping, and content systems
- Demonstrated courage, a distinctive edge, and a strong sense of urgency
- Ability to think outside the box and present ideas that question the status quo
- Committed to intellectual honesty, fostering better debate, decision‑making, and results

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For US‑based candidates only, the base salary for this position ranges from $65,700 to $118,300 per year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and location. Compensation for candidates outside the US will vary. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards, and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
