IT Project Manager

Our Network Infrastructure team owns the rapid deployment and reliable maintenance of the critical hardware and network systems that provide the technical underpinnings for all of Akamai's products. The team ensures consistent availability and performance for our customers.
Responsibilities- Manage a team of employees supervising the activities of Field Technician contractors in hyperscale pods across the United States.
- Build relationships with third‑party system integrators (SIs) used for deployment and maintenance activities and oversee the work.
- Build relationships with large‑scale data center providers for new deployments and ongoing operations.
- Conduct inventory control of local spare parts, including RMA coordination for defective parts.
- Coordinate with Compliance on access list management for assigned data centers.
- Maintain 24x7 staffing and an escalation path to address network incidents and SLA adherence.
- Evaluate and adapt the training curriculum to the specific needs of hyperscale pods.
- Coordinate the staffing of Field Technicians at hyperscale pods.
- 10 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Management Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Extensive experience working with data center vendors and the data center environment.
- Track record of solid employee development and engagement.
- Drive for process improvement.
- Experience guiding teams through process changes and realignments.
Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For US based candidates only, the base salary for this position ranges from $132,100 to $237,900 per year. Compensation is determined by various factors, including relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. The package may also include incentive compensation such as an annual bonus or incentives, equity awards, and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
