Position
Operational Technology (OT) Response Engineer
Role OverviewModerna is seeking an OT Response Engineer to strengthen enterprise defense and incident response capabilities in OT environments. The role blends incident response expertise with OT cybersecurity, protecting critical manufacturing operations and collaborating across Cybersecurity, OT, and IT teams to ensure timely, practical containment and response actions.
Key Responsibilities- Lead incident response activities in OT environments, including triage, containment, eradication, recovery, and post‑incident review.
- Investigate security alerts related to malware, endpoint threats, identity‑based attacks, and other incidents.
- Operate security tools such as Splunk SIEM, Nozomi, and Crowd Strike Falcon to analyze alerts and logs.
- Coordinate response efforts across multiple teams (cybersecurity, OT, IT) and communicate findings, business impact, and action items clearly.
- Assess regulatory concerns in OT environments and balance cyber incidents with operational continuity.
- Identify and mitigate OT‑specific threats, analyzing network traffic and system behavior.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related discipline.
- 6+ years of experience in cybersecurity, software engineering, or IT with expertise in threat detection, detection engineering, response, or threat hunting.
- Hands‑on expertise with Splunk Enterprise Security, Microsoft Defender, and Crowd Strike Falcon.
- Knowledge of OT/ICS environments, manufacturing networks, equipment connectivity, and operational constraints.
- Understanding of cloud security architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP) and modern detection telemetry.
- Familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK, NIST, and CIS frameworks for threat mapping and control alignment.
