Principal Systems Analyst

Responsibilities

• As a Principal System Analyst in Quantitative Research and Investments Technology, you blend investment management and technical expertise with a passion for delivering results.
• You are the end-to-end gatekeeper of the team mission, strategy, and tactical execution associated with delivering on strategic priorities.
• In an agile structure, you partner with other Fidelity leaders to influence larger strategic decisions, roadmaps, and resource requirements, set and refine the mission, and bring together a team to execute on specific product features.
• You will ensure alignment on the 'what' and 'when' work is to be performed through ongoing planning and prioritization of a product backlog.
• You will enable team members to work iteratively, innovate through testing and experimentation, and learn from failures while celebrating success.
• You are committed to developing your own expertise and knowledge to bring the latest thinking to your role.
• Defining, refining, and communicating the team's mission and roadmap to empower team and partner support and alignment.
• Anticipating, discovering through ongoing interaction with, and prioritizing client/partner needs to serve as their voice and guide execution of the team.
• Defining, evaluating, and communicating results against acceptance criteria.
• Inspecting and evaluating progress, and removing impediments.
• Measuring performance against established objectives that deliver on agreed‑upon business, technology, and people results.
• Collaborating and coordinating with Technical Leads and Project Managers to establish team capacity and capability and enabling team member growth, development, and learning.
• Making informed trade‑off decisions to strike the right balance between quality, cost, and timelines.
• Scaling up ideas that would further business objectives and capabilities.

• Bachelor's degree (or above) in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business Information Systems, Mathematics or Finance related field; CFA / CFP designation or post‑graduate degree in finance or a related field a plus.
• 6+ years of proven experience in end-to-end technology solution delivery.
• Experience designing, developing, and maintaining dynamic products and solutions.
• Financial services experience, preferred.
• Jira and Jira Align experience preferred.
• Experience in Asset Management industry preferred.
• Take a data‑focused approach to understanding customer needs, translate strategic objectives into action, and prioritize to improve value delivered.
• Grasp sophisticated product features and break them into clear and concise stories with well‑defined business value and acceptance criteria and optimally communicate these.
• Have deep understanding of the industry landscape around Quant research space with focus on creative solutioning approach to build quantitative investing platforms.
• Capable of leading, influencing, and motivating colleagues without formal authority, and have a track record of building high‑performing teams.
• Continuously improve and encourage an agile way of working.
• Establish and maintain unquestioning relationships as you work multi‑functionally across Fidelity to deliver business outcomes and seek out the expertise of colleagues to advise on your approach.

• Proven experience with minimum viable product definition and product backlog management.
• Adept at detecting scope changes and raising issues.
