About the Job

Sanofi is accelerating a modernization journey focused on data‑driven capabilities that shift how medical science and data are integrated into decision‑making. The Medical Innovation team seeks a leader to architect a transition from retrospective data reporting to predictive medical intelligence, owning frameworks such as Medical Care Gaps and building predictive analytics that support evidence‑based decision‑making across Global Business Units (GBUs).

Main Responsibilities
  • Define and own the Medical Intelligence roadmap, shifting Medical Affairs from “reporting data” to “predictive strategy.”
  • Build and lead the Data Strategy framework that integrates clinical evidence, real‑world data, field insights, and digital health streams into a unified intelligence layer.
  • Champion Medical Plai and other predictive analytics platforms, overseeing design, testing, and integration into planning workflows.
  • Own and evolve the Medical Care Gaps identification and analysis framework to prioritize GBU strategies.
  • Develop MedIS (Medical Insights Engine) capabilities for data accessibility and strategic utility.
  • Lead innovation incubation: scout emerging AI/ML capabilities, test use cases with Digital partners, and establish KPI frameworks for scaling.
  • Partner with Global Heads across platform functions to embed intelligence into core Medical processes.
  • Represent the function in the Medical Innovation Council, contributing to governance decisions on AI use cases and investments.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, data privacy, and ethical AI principles for all models and platforms.
About You
  • 10+ years in Medical Affairs, Data Strategy, Real‑World Evidence, or related healthcare analytics roles.
  • Advanced scientific or quantitative degree (MD, PhD, PharmD, or Master’s in Data Science, Biostatistics, Health Informatics).
  • Experience with AI/ML applications in healthcare: predictive analytics, NLP, or real‑world evidence platforms.
  • Proven track record designing or leading global data strategy or medical intelligence programs.
  • Strong communication skills with ability to translate complex analytics into executive‑ready narratives.
  • Leadership experience in matrixed, global environments.
  • Deep understanding of the pharmaceutical data ecosystem, including claims, EHR, and digital health streams.
  • Passion for innovation at the intersection of data science, medical strategy, and digital transformation.
Leadership & Skills
  • Analytical leader capable of building strategic narratives from multi‑source data.
  • Influencer who drives alignment across cross‑functional teams without direct authority.
  • Program management skills for global analytics initiatives.
  • Change leader who champions a cultural shift from data‑reporting to predictive intelligence.
  • Collaborative executor adept in matrixed environments.
Executive Competencies
  • Strategic Foresight:
Anticipate AI trends and align capabilities ahead of market shifts.
  • Analytical Storytelling:
Translate data analysis into compelling insights for leadership.
  • GBU Partnership:
Serve as trusted advisor balancing enterprise and GBU needs.
  • Change Leadership:
Inspire adoption of new analytical tools across Medical Affairs.
  • Collaborative Execution:
Align Digital, GBU, and peer innovation pillars to deliver integrated outcomes.
Travel Requirements

This global role requires approximately 20–25% travel to collaborate with GBU teams, Digital partners, and external stakeholders.

Compensation

Salary range: $ – $ USD, plus eligibility to participate in company benefit programs.
