Job Description
Join our SRE team! Our team uses large datasets to analyze and measure the performance and reliability of our platform. We are networking data scientists: we combine our knowledge of data analysis, networking and distributed systems to define key performance indicators for our platform, determine how different factors impact them, and devise opportunities for improvement.
Responsibilities- Leading SRE teams by providing technical mentorship, feedback and guidelines, and by organizing project‑specific work.
- Driving partnership with Engineering, Operations and Product teams to help guide adoption of new features and processes.
- Applying analytical skills and statistical insights to identify performance bottlenecks and reliability challenges, and propose solutions.
- Defining, implementing, mining data feeds drawn from 3rd‑party and internal sources to produce insights that influence company decision‑making.
- Influencing company decision‑making at the highest levels to identify areas for new technology investments.
- Building software tools and systems to automate analytical tasks and workflows to increase efficiency and reliability.
- 8+ years of experience and a Bachelor's diploma in Computer Science or its equivalent.
- Have an analytical background with experience in statistical data analysis.
- Demonstrate experience with coding in at least one of the following languages: python, perl, SQL, Java, C, R.
- Have a proven ability to provide insightful and well‑received technical feedback.
- Have excellent communication and organizational skills and be able to articulate technical information in an easy‑to‑understand manner.
- Possess experience with Internet protocols (DNS/HTTP/TLS/TCP).

CompensationAkamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For US based candidates only, the base salary for this position ranges from $146,400 – $263,600 per year; additional compensation may include incentive compensation opportunities, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP). Compensation for candidates outside the US will vary.
