Operating Engineer

We are seeking an Operating Engineer to join our team, working Monday through Friday from 6 am to 2 pm with a rotating on‑call schedule. The role involves managing low pressure steam boilers, mechanical equipment, HVAC systems, and general maintenance within pharmaceutical buildings in Cambridge.

• Operate and maintain low pressure steam boilers.
• Perform general mechanical equipment maintenance.
• Engage in HVAC system management and repairs.
• Conduct general maintenance tasks as necessary, not limited to boiler operations.
• Troubleshoot and perform preventive maintenance on various systems.

• 3‑5 years of experience in a similar role.
• High level of mechanical skills.
• Proficiency in plumbing and facility maintenance.
• Experience with maintenance repair and low pressure systems.
• EPA Universal certification.
• 2nd Fireman’s License (Required).

• 3rd Engineer license is a bonus.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Creative and detail‑oriented.
• Team player.

The role is based in two large pharmaceutical buildings in Cambridge, equipped with two low pressure steam boilers. You will not be required to enter labs.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cambridge, MA.

The pay range for this position is $45.00 – $55.00/hr.
