About the Kalaniyot Foundation
The Kalaniyot Foundation is an umbrella organization for a network of Kalaniyot-affiliated universities. We support faculty-led initiatives (Kalaniyot chapters) aimed at advancing academic excellence by deepening ties with Israeli researchers and cultivating a supportive campus community. Our vision is to grow into a robust nonprofit with an annual budget of at least $10–$15 million. Currently in our startup phase, we seek a dynamic, self-motivated individual who will play a critical role in laying the foundation for our long-term success.
Position OverviewThe Program Manager for the Kalaniyot Foundation will work directly with senior leadership and external stakeholders to manage the day-to-day operations of the Kalaniyot Foundation. This position is ideal for someone with prior experience in nonprofit management, program management, and organizational development, who is excited to help build a rapidly growing organization. This role requires extensive communication and coordination with organizational leadership, Kalaniyot faculty, donors, grantmakers, and other stakeholders.
This role offers significant opportunity for professional growth as the Foundation expands, with potential for increased responsibility over time.
PrincipalDuties & Responsibilities Program Management & Development
Work with Kalaniyot leadership to manage existing initiatives and develop new programs, including:
Fellows Programming- Manage the Kalaniyot Fellows Program
- Ensure smooth operation of the call for applications and review of applicants
- Establish procedures for documentation and compliance with legal requirements, organization bylaws, and commitments to donors
- Develop and manage program budgets, spending plans, and financial reports
- Coordinate a lecture series for visiting Israeli academics and artists across Kalaniyot campuses
- Help plan and develop a robust program to fund research projects at Kalaniyot chapters and Israeli partner institutions
- In conjunction with senior leadership, develop and implement the organization’s method of assessing program effectiveness
- Support chapter reporting requirements
- Support the Foundation’s legal team and CEO in drafting legal documents and monitoring compliance as needed
- Manage the Kalaniyot website and social media, and oversee the creation of marketing materials (e.g., newsletters, announcements)
- Coordinate PR or media outreach efforts to elevate organizational visibility
- Schedule and coordinate board meetings
- Develop, distribute, and maintain documents for board meetings including agendas, meeting materials, and minutes
- Maintain organizational files, databases, and records (e.g., donor database, program attendance)
- Assist in creating budgets and tracking expenses, revenue, and reimbursements
- Conduct basic research on potential donors, foundations, and grants
- Assist in writing or preparing grant proposals and reports
- Provide event support as needed
