Senior Director, Global Program Lead–Neuroscience

The Global Program Leader (GPL) is an experienced, versatile executive who defines and leads the asset strategy and oversees all development and life‑cycle management (LCM) projects associated with an asset from discovery to the marketplace. The GPL balances regulatory approval, launch, and global patient access while partnering with cross‑functional teams to maximize asset value and deliver on Takeda’s values of Patient‑Trust‑Reputation‑Business.
Responsibilities- Define global program strategy, vision, goals and long‑term plans, aligning cross‑functional and cross‑divisional project priorities with business objectives.
- Lead the Global Program Team (GPT) and its functional sub‑teams—clinical, commercial, CMC, and others—to execute product development, commercialization and LCM activities.
- Manage budgets, including setting the operating budget, monitoring expenditures, and controlling variances to meet Takeda financial goals.
- Report on program progress, key risks, decisions and outcomes to executive management and governance committees.
- Drive key business initiatives such as evaluating new opportunities, conducting feasibility studies, and fostering internal and external stakeholder engagement.
- Implement change management to adjust plans in response to evolving strategic direction or market dynamics.
- Provide matrix management, strategic and tactical leadership to GPT members and uphold stakeholder management expectations.
Required
- Advanced scientific degree (MD, PhD, PharmD) or MBA.
- Minimum 10years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, including research, development, and commercial operations.
- At least 8years of interdisciplinary global experience managing complex projects involving strategy, execution, and matrix team leadership.
Preferred
- Advanced degree in science or business.
- Experience managing multiple NME global approvals.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from PMI.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from PMI desired.
Compensation and Benefits SummaryBase Salary: $ – $ (U.S. – MA – Cambridge). The actual base salary will reflect qualifications, experience, and other factors.
