Overview
The VP, Head of Global Strategic Sourcing, will serve as a key enterprise leader responsible for setting and executing Alnylam’s global strategic sourcing, supplier management, and third‑party risk strategy. As a member of the Finance Leadership Team, they will partner closely with senior leaders across R&D, Technical Operations, Commercial, and Corporate Functions to optimize enterprise‑wide spend, strengthen supplier capabilities, mitigate risk, and enable the company’s long‑term growth strategy.
The Vice President will lead a global organization responsible for strategic sourcing across direct and indirect spend categories representing approximately $2 billion in annual external spend and will drive transformational initiatives that enhance operational efficiency, accelerate innovation, create sustainable value, and position sourcing as a strategic business partner across the enterprise. The role will balance financial value with quality, service, speed, supplier performance, innovation, business continuity, risk reduction, stakeholder experience, supplier diversity, sustainability, and working‑capital outcomes.
This leader will establish a forward‑looking sourcing vision, leveraging market insights, AI‑enabled and digital sourcing capabilities, and strategic partnerships to support Alnylam’s evolving business needs.

- Develop and execute a comprehensive global strategic sourcing strategy aligned with Alnylam’s corporate objectives, growth plans, and long‑term financial goals, while partnering with Procurement Operations to support effective end‑to‑end source‑to‑pay execution.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, influencing enterprise decisions related to supplier strategy, balanced value creation, risk management, and strategic sourcing transformation.
- Act as a strategic leader on the Finance Leadership Team (FLT), contributing to broader enterprise planning and business priorities, including annual budgeting, forecasting, long‑range planning, demand management, and external‑spend governance.
- Drive a culture of accountability, innovation, continuous improvement, and operational excellence across the sourcing organization.
- Lead all global strategic sourcing activities, including category management, strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, commercial and contract negotiations, sourcing governance, and market intelligence; partner closely with Procurement Operations on purchasing processes, buying channels, supplier enablement, and source‑to‑pay performance.
