Supervisory Transportation Analyst
US DOT Volpe Center's Program Development and Capacity Building Division provides transportation services supporting finance, freight, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), operations, planning, and safety to a wide range of federal, state, regional and local customers in order to improve the efficiency, performance, safety and security of transportation systems.
As a Supervisory Transportation Analyst, you will:
- Manage the Division's portfolio of projects and staff to deliver highly complex technical products and programs on time and within budget.
- Strengthen existing internal and external relationships and build new business opportunities.
- Manage programs and projects in accordance with DOT Strategic Plans and project management standards and best industry practices, including developing and managing Inter Agency Agreements (IAA) and ensuring the Division's portfolio of projects meets the high-priority needs of the DOT.
- Partner and collaborate with the management team to implement and enhance mission requirements.
- Manage the budget and operation of the Division, including supervising, developing and hiring Division staff.
The ideal candidate for this position is a senior level professional who functions independently and demonstrates leadership in team environments and/or managing people. The ideal candidate also has strong analytical, strategic planning, and communication skills to advance an organization/agency mission in an entrepreneurial, fee-for-service business environment. Experience in analyzing and providing recommendations for improvement of transportation policy and an ability to meet organizational goals is desirable.
